ABOUT THE COLLECTOR


A native of Baltimore, MD, Henry is an avid collector and authority on hunting decoys and other Maryland artifacts. He is the author of Lloyd J. Tyler: Folk Artist and Decoy Maker, and the newly published Ira D. Hudson and Family: Chincoteague Carvers.  He served as Committee Chairman for the Maryland Historical Society’s 1991 exhibition, Chesapeake Wildfowl Hunting, which presented some of the finest decoy collections in America.  Henry curated the Fall 2000 Objects of the Chesapeake exhibit at Government House in Annapolis, MD, which featured Bay related artifacts including decoys, paintings and models.  

Henry is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Historical Society and a member of the MdHS’s Maritime and Library Committees.  In his free time Henry enjoys fishing, boating and decoy auctions. Henry currently resides in Catonsville, MD, with his wife Judy and a plethora of decoys and antiques.
